Revelation 20:9 is one.

Yes, it has to deal when God blesses a nation and that said nation turns its back on God and he removes his blessing. Hosea chapter 3 tells us of a time that God removes his blessings from the nation of Israel (not including Judea) because they have turned their backs on God.

"2 You make vows and break them;

you kill and steal and commit adultery.

There is violence everywhere-

one murder after another.

3 That is why your land is in mourning,

and everyone is wasting away.

Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky,

and the fish of the sea are disappearing." Hosea 4:2-3 NLT

other versions translate disappearing as Dying.

The Hebrew transliteration is " 'acaph " which is wrote in Niphal (stem and mood) and is better translated to be taken away, removed, perish.

While this has been used as a sign to show God is removing blessings from a nation, it also can happen outside of God's doing as environmental issues can also cause certain situations of similarity to occur. To agree that it is of God I would implore individuals to research if there is more than one event occurring in a given nation and the concentration of that event.

Answer:

There are two series of plagues prophesied in Revelation: seven "Trumpet" plagues... and seven "vial" plagues. Of these two series of end time plagues, only creatures associated with the "sea" are radically effected.

The first seven "trumpet" plagues may well be the ones the "Two Witnesses" wield in their 3 1/2 year witness and testimony during the Great Tribulation... much like Moses and Aaron called plagues down on Egypt, that wore down Pharaoh and eventually brought about the First Exodus.

"These [Two Witnesses] have the power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy [3 1/2 years, verse 3]: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (Rev.11:6)

The Bible speaks of a "Second Exodus" in the end time that will cause the first one to be paled by comparison. It will be a massive "global" one of not just the scattered tribes of Israel, but of all the remnant nations in the world. [Jer.16:14-21 & 23:5-8]

The first "trumpet" plague speaks of "hail and fire mingled with blood, cast upon the earth where "one-third of the earth's trees burn up"... and "all green grass" [Rev.8:7]. It would be surprising if a large number of animals don't die in that plague... but God's Word is silent about it.

The second trumpet reveals a "mountain of fire" [asteroid? meteor?] being cast into the sea [Mediterranean? All the seas?] and a third part of it becoming "blood" in which "...the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died..." (Rev.8:9).

Some of the trumpet plagues seem to be the result of man's own invention... and seem to describe the effects of "nuclear" and probably all-out chemical and biological warfare. These remain to be seen... but the Bible speaks of its effects on men... not animals. But, how can animals escape it?

The seven "vial" plagues occur after the "seventh" and "last trump" is sounded. That means that Jesus Christ has "gathered His elect" into the clouds with Him "above the earth."

[Jesus returns at the "last trump"] The seventh trumpet sounds after the Two Witnesses are killed at the end of their 3 1/2 year prophecy, apparently, 3 1/2 DAYS before Jesus returns, because at that time, these two "dead in Christ" resurrect from the dead and:

"...ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them..." (Rev.11:12)

"And the seventh [and last] angel sounded; and... The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever." (verse 15)

With God's elect with Him hovering in the clouds above the earth... the seven vial plagues of the last of God's wrath are "poured out" on the earth before He finishes His descent. As He waits for the plagues to be poured... and the armies of man to gather at Armageddon. [Rev.16]

We are told that with the pouring out of the "second vial" upon the sea... "...every living soul died in the sea." (Rev.16:3)

As for land animals... prophecy reveals that God has a specific use for certain carion eaters:

"...I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the Great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captians, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great... And the remnant were slain with the Sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which proceeded out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (Rev.19:17-21)

It's doubtful that all animals will escape the destruction coming on the earth. Man's wars [as well as his "peacetime" endeavors] have always witnessed the waste of all kinds of life forms; plant and animal. But the Bible tells us that more than enough carion eating birds and beasts of the earth will be around to "clean up" and "recycle" a lot of the mess He's going to make when He returns.
