Well the Mayans wrote a calender, but the stopped writing it in 2012 because that is when the planets alignment would be below them.(underneath their horizon) they did not understand the whole negative numbers concept, so they stopped. and then some moron decided they stopped their calender in 2012 because the world would end. if your worried about the world ending, Don't! it wont, not for at least another 3billoin years.

∙ 13y agoOnce again, there is no conclusive study that proves that the Mayan's predicted the world will end. It is unsure if they didn't have time to finish the calendar before the Spanish invaded or what ever else could have happened.
But to answer your question the Mayan calendar ends on the (Summer Solstice), 21st of December 2012
