Country code +800 is used for Universal International Freephone Numbers (UIFN). There should be exactly 8 digits after the +800. You will also see these numbers advertised with the appropriate international access prefix prepended, as in 00 800 xxxx xxxx, or 011-800-xxxx-xxxx.

Many countries also use 800 or 0800 or 1800 as a code for domestic toll-free numbers. In North America (US, Canada, etc.), 800, 844, 855, 866, 877, and 888 are all toll-free codes.

International telephone code +800 (dialed as 00 800 from many places), is for Universal International Freephone numbers (UIFN). It is not allocated to any specific country. All UIFN numbers have 8 further digits after +800.

UIFN numbers can be reached from any country that participates in the scheme, provided that the owner of the particular UIFN number elects to receive calls from that country.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

The 800 prefix is used for toll-free numbers, it is not a geographical area code.

1-800 numbers can be anywhere in the USA or Canada.

Where is area code 001 800?

00 isn't part of the area code or country code, it is a commonly used international access prefix. If 00 is your international access prefix, then you're really asking about telephone country code and area code +1 800. Country code +1 is North America, including the USA, Canada, and certain nearby islands, mostly in the Caribbean. Area code +1 800 is used for toll-free calls within North America. It may be possible to dial a North American toll-free number (Area codes +1 800, +1 888, +1 877, +1 866, +1 855, and +1 844) from other countries, with the caller paying the international call charges. If that doesn't work, try searching the web to find a regular geographic number for the company you're trying to contact.Alternatively, if your international access prefix is 001, then you're asking about telephone country code +800, which is UIFN, Universal International Freephone Numbers. A call to a +800 number should be toll-free from any country from which the call will complete. It can be very confusing to quote an international telephone number with the international access prefix, since different countries use different prefixes for outbound international calls. To avoid that confusion, it is best to quote an international telephone number beginning with the plus symbol and the actual telephone country code, omitting any access prefix.(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

What is the most well-known area code for toll-free phone numbers?

Area code 800 is by far the best-known toll-free code. In fact, many other countries have copied the idea, often using 800, 0800, or 1800 as the toll-free code, and Universal International Freephone Numbers (UIFN, toll-free from any participating country) use telephone country code +800. The toll-free codes in North America (USA, Canada, etc.) are 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, and 844, with 833 and 822 reserved for future toll-free use. Other countries may have one or more toll-free codes for domestic use.

What is the telephone country code for international freephone?

International freephone numbers (toll-free from participating countries) use country code +800, followed by 8 more digits.International freephone numbers are separate from various national toll-free numbers, such as 800/888/877/866/855 in USA/Canada, 0800 in many countries, etc.+800 is not allocated to a specific country, it is for international freephone numbers.

Can a number with area code 855 be a fax number?

Yes, a number in area code 855 can be used for a fax machine. A fax number is just a telephone number that currently has a fax machine connected to it instead of (or in addition to) a regular telephone. Area code 855 is toll-free within North America (USA, Canada, etc.), along with area codes 800, 888, 877, and 866, and future area codes 844, 833, and 822.

Where in North America is area code 800-594?

North American area code 800 is a special toll-free area code, along with 888, 877, 866, and 855, and in future 844, 833, and 822. You cannot tell anything about where the number is located; in fact, it could even route to a call center outside North America (USA, Canada, etc.; country code +1).

Where is telephone country code 00180?

00 isn't part of the country code, it is a commonly used international access prefix.Assuming that 00 is your international access prefix, that leaves the question of where is telephone country code +1 80. Telephone country code +1 is North America, including the United States, Canada, and 18 islands in or near the Caribbean. +1 80 is an incomplete area code; you need one more digit to narrow down the location. For example, +1 802 is Vermont, +1 807 is northwestern Ontario, Canada, and +1 809 is the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. On the other hand, if your international access prefix is 001, then that leaves the question of where is telephone country code +80, which is an incomplete code. Telephone country code +800 is international freephone numbers, and country code +808 is for international shared-cost numbers. To avoid the confusion created by the different access prefixes used in different parts of the world, it is best to quote an international telephone number beginning with only the plus symbol and the actual telephone country code, omitting any access prefix.(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
