The filter is located Under the unit in most air handlers, in a manufactures filter track, this is pretty universal from one air handler branding to the next. On most furnace installations you most likely will cut either 1 or both of the sides out of the furnaces blower compartment. This means you must remove the furnaces main door, then remove the two hex head screws in the blower door's front or top usually 5/16th hex head at top edge.
Open the furnace and check to see if the filter is located within. It should be neatly pinned in place with a thin metal wire, running from rear to front that clips inside and against the side of the furnace near the front.
Then there is the last kind of set up where we embed a filter track external to the equipment and with in the run of return ducting you may also use return filter grills in walls and ceiling where the main return louvers originate.
It's time to change the Air filter in the unit.
the filter on a central unit is the same as the furnace filter usually located in duct work directly beside furnace
The arrow on the filter should point toward the furnace/airhandler, whichever you have, or in other words with the direction of the airflow.
how to check out the relay in a central air conditioning unit
It depends if it is a central unit or a window unit. A central unit will have a return air duct with a hinged grate. open the grate and pull out the old filter. Check the size and go to the store and buy that size filter. Put the filter in the way you took it out. A window air conditioner either has a foam, fiber, or screen type filter. If it has a screen type, just pull on the tab that should say filter on it and slide it out. You can was this type in the sink, let it dry and then put it back in. The foam and fiber type you have to remove the front of the unit, usually held on by metal clips behind the facing. Pull the front off and pull the filter out. These have to be replaced
in air handling unit
Omg not a leaking central air unit those are the worst
The filter may be too dirty and blocking air flow. It should be checked for cleanliness once a month. Also, there could be a leak in the system.
Call a duct cleaning company, they can get it.
overcharging a central air unit system with refrigerant(freon) will cause the head pressure to be?
Air conditioners, whether a window unit or a central unit, MUST have a filter. Otherwise, dust, lint, dirt, pet hair, etc. will clog up the cooling coils. The cooling coils are damp, and the dust and dirt, etc. will stick to them, which will result in the fan not being able to blow air through the unit. This will very quickly result in a unit that is damaged beyond repair.
To cool more than two rooms it is economically more efficient to purchase a central air conditioning unit than a wall unit. Wall units are individually cheaper than central air, but if you have to buy more than two, then it is better to buy the central air unit.
