Whenever I replaced my mom's sterio in her '95 it was located behind the panel in the cargo area. It was located behind the passenger side panel. I imagine it is in the same place in the '92 since they were similar models. You have to use a clip removal tool or some sort of flat screw driver to remove the clips on the trim panel and the large panel it is behind. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
