Your gun began production in 1939. In 1950 the brand was changed to Savage. Rifles and shotguns made before 1968 were not required by law to have a serial number. IF yours has a serial number, it is stamped on the lower left side of the frame, just forward of the trigger.
most early guns did not have serial numbers, when used they were on the lower edge on the side of the receiver.
IF it has a serial number (not required in the US until 1968) it will be stamped on the receiver.
We cannot tell the model from the serial number- but if you contact Merkel. they can.
Depends on model and when it was made. I have a Stevens 84-C that has no SN on it.
Impossible to answer since no serial number was given.
i need to know where the serial number is on a 16 guage crack barrel, about 30 years old
What's the year of my Stevens? Serial number p116495
SN not required before 1968
If manufactured prior to 1969, it doesn't have one.
THAT NUMBER LOOKS LIKE A SERIAL NUMBER NOT A MODEL NUMBER. IF IT IS LOCATED UNDER THE STOCK JUST BEHIND THE TRIGGER GUARD IT IS A SERIAL OR PRODUCTION NUMBER NOT A MODEL NUMBER.
with a serial number of E261611
Browning's web site has a sn search function.
Check the barrel and receiver. Sn's were not required before 1968
