Casting number is on the back, right hand side of the block just above the starter.
you can only tell by the serial number on the engine and a decode book.
that means it is (or was originally!) a 1200cc engine produced from august 1965. the D denotes that, the rest of the number is your serial number.
I think its a 1965... the boat I just got has the same model number and simular serial number. Its origional on a 1965 glasscraft. My serial is c397097... so my engine 125 engine newer... crazy eh!? No it is not an interference engine.
This would be a late 1965 to early 1966 manufactured engine, 1966 model year 1300 cc engine.

If your Colt Stagecoach was made from 1965 - 1968 it will not have a serial number.
IF they were made prior to 1965 they have no serial number
should be in the serial #, I can tell just by looking at the engine.
