at the back of the engine slightly to your right as you face the engine,you will see a black plastic cylinder verticaly aligned this is the air filter, the starter is below this, a knobbly casting and metal horizontal cylinder the size of a can of beans,,,and they are expensive to replace!!
The starter motor is located on the drivers side of the engine under the intake manifold, you can see it better from under the car.
take off plastic shield that goes from bottom of radiator to bottom of motor and you will see starter in bottom of motor
The starter on a peugeot 106 is located at the back of the engine block on the right side. Very difficult to locate from above, since it is below the intake/airfilter equipment. From below it is easier. Take of the right front wheel and jack the car up or go underneath in a pit. There you will find the starter and one may see the electrcal connections to it. It is fastened with two bolts underneath (at the rear side of the starter and one on top going through the transmission block. On the diesel you need to remove the exhaust heat shield, and it will help to remove the exhaust front pipe - what a pain!
the fuse box is in the glove box, u will see it as you open the glove box it is on the top and drops down
It is above where the starter goes cast on the block.if the motor is in you will have to remove the starter to see the #.
it is located under the engine on the right side of the engine. crawl under the right front wheel and you will see the starter motor and the associated wiring.
To locate the starter motor you open the bonnet then look between the radiator and the gearbox you will then see the starter motor the live wire coming from the battery goes to the starter motor so just follow that. The starter motor is held into the gearbox with 3 bolts and a bracket at the other end. This bracket needs removing before you undo the 3 main bolts as the starter wont come off with this bracket on.Make sure you know where the wires go when you put it back together
At the end of the starter motor shaft. Remove the starter and look in the opening that faced the transmission and you will see the gear.
The starter is located on the bottom passenger side of the motor. There are 3 bolts holding the starter to the motor and transmission, two bolts are fairly easy to see while the third will be between the starter and oil pan.
