Generally between the engine and firewall, on the passenger side. For a 1980's Chevy, look for a round, closed metal loop low and near the distributor (again, on the back of the motor). The oil dipstick generally had a tee handle or an open metal loop on the driver's side of the engine.
yes
Cut the engine capartment out so it fits
If this is an automatic, it would be in view on one side or the other close to the firewall. If this is a stick or manual transmission you don't have a dip stick.

It is 100% certain that there is a dipstick to check the engine oil. However some GM vehicles have a sealed transmission, and may very well not have a transmission dip stick. Owner's manual will give list this information.
The 98 Cabrio has a sealed transmission, it does not have a dipstick.
Chevy didn't offer a 350 in an 86 Camaro, but if they did, it would theoretically work in an 87 Caprice.
hehehe... "dipstick"... teehee
On a 1997 Mercury Tracer : The AUTOMATIC transmission fluid dipstick would be on the side of the transmission ( transaxle ) in the area of the brake fluid reservoir . The manual transmission ( transaxle ) does not have a dipstick
No it will not. To long.
It would go in the dipstick tube for the transmission.
