It is not ideal to buy any animal from a website. If you feel you must, great care should be taken when thinking of buying a cat from a website. It is all too easy for someone to scam a potential kitten or cat buyer out of a lot of money. It is not uncommon for such internet scammers to pretend to have pets for sale but don't actually have any, or advertise a rare breed which either is made-up, or the cat being sold is not the breed advertised. This is particularly common with expensive pedigree breeds, or exotic breeds such as the Bengal.

When buying a pet online, do all the necessary checks to make sure they are genuine. i.e. get their landline telephone number and speak to them that way, and make sure you go and visit the kitten or cat at their home AT LEAST once. If you are looking for a particular breed, research the breed thoroughly so you know you are getting exactly what you want.

NEVER send any money before you visit the cat. This also ensures that you are getting a cat that is the same as advertised and is otherwise healthy.
