At the Beas River in India because his army mutinied.

It is interesting to note that when Alexander the Great invaded India ... they were attacked by "flying, fiery shields" that dove at his army. The elephants panicked, stampeded into the men and since they couldn't fight UFO's they gave up and turned back. Sounds crazy but it's true since that's part of the historical records.

His soldiers had been in action for ten years and had achieved the aim of taking over the Persian Empire. Alexander wanted to push on through India, which he thought of as the eastern end of the world. The soldiers revolted and refused to go on. He had to give up, but marched his men back through a desert as a punishment, and many died.

His Macedonian soldiers had had enough and wanted to take their booty and go home. So they revolted and refused to go further east. To spite them, Alexander marched them back through the Gedrosian desert and many died.

In 326 BCE he headed east through India. When the army arrived at the Beaz River it mutinied - having been on the war trail for 10 years, his Macedonians just wanted to take their share of the loot and go home. Alexander had no option to turn back, however he exacted revenge on his soldiers, marching them back through the Gedrosian Desert where many died.

Where in India did Alexander the Great turn his back to?

The story is that he was set on conquering India, and his army jacked up on him at the Jhelum River, having been fighting for ten years and wanted to go home. It was just as well as King Chandragupta was in the process of conquering eastern India and had an army which would have crushed Alexander's force if they had collided. We have to wonder if Alexander's army had heard about this and it was this factor as well as homesickness which provoked their mutiny.

Did Alexander the great discover India?

I am not quite sure exactly what is meant by that question but I believe it is a no. India was already discovered and known of. Alexander, after conquering Persia, set out to conquer India. He arrived in the plains of northwestern India, fought a brutal battle, and conquered that part of India. He planned on marching on to conquer more of India to the east, but his army refused to go on since they were fought year after year non-stop. So Alexander had to turn back and didn't go any further into India.
