Number 1 cylinder is..... if you're facing the front of the vehicle the number 1 cylinder is the cylinder furthest to the left or passenger side of the vehicle or the side of the engine that has the belts... the 2.2 ltr. L-4 engine and almost all other "transversly mounted" engines are set up that way.... the cylinders are lined up in a left to right configuration so it would be 1234 in that order, facing the front of the vehicle looking from left to right... the firing order for the 2.2 L-4 is 1-3-4-2 and is the same in most of the General Motors 4-Cylinder L-4 engines.... i don't see why not the 2.2 was used in 95 and 96 should fit right in
22-25 city and 32-37 highway depending if it is a manual or automatic transmission equipped.

The torque specification for the rocker arm nut on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier is 22 foot pounds. This is the equivalent of 30 newton meters.
The 2003 Cavalier has an expected mileage of 22 mpg in the city. Highway mileage is an expected 30 mpg.
