Star Trek. They make more progress in technology and society. Star Wars fights over who controls the galaxy and only care about power and money. they are blood thirsty scumbags. Star trek's Q entity can flip a ship upside down and blow them up whenever they like. The stupid force can;t do that!

Star Trek. I'm assuming TOS Star Trek for this one, but it has been established that the Federation alone could stomp the Galactic Empire circa The Empire Strikes Back. The Federation has FTL travel, transporters, and synthesizers. In short, even assuming parity of military tech, the Federation has easier supply lines, immunity to the Immobilizer 418's Gravity Well, the ability to send marines to board vessels, probably higher computer processing power for hacking, (It's been established that, post-Katana Fleet fiasco, a lot of the ships in the Star Wars universe were decentralized into individual units with lesser processing power), sensors and tricorders that would rival the Force to detect entities, and phasers for their ground troops have a little-used but still there DISRUPT setting. This deserves special mention as you can shoot what amounts to a PLASMA BOMB at anything. And, finally--

(Warp Storm, somehow) The Imperium of Man somehow gets there. With a strength of twenty Imperial Guard Regiments, 10 of them vehicular, and two Space Marine chapters, they bring the Galaxy to Compliance. 40k beats all.

Star Wars is a massive moralizing universe that plays fast and loose with reality.

Star Trek attempts to provide a sliver of justification to their reality-violating antics, and often features more morally gray characters.

You want to turn off your brain when you watch Star Wars, because you're there to see laser-swords and SPESS gunplay, with a bit of snubcraft flying around.

Star Trek attempts to be meaningful.

For best results, split the difference and watch Neon Genesis Evangelion instead.

No, it isn't. It is an entirely different story. Really, they were being made around the same time actually. The Star Wars Movies came out right around the time that they were making the shows Star Trek. They really are an entirely different set-up as well. Star Trek was a show about space battles and things like that, but the character set-up is often made fun of now. Red shirts would always die first, blue shirts would never die and usually higher rank like captian or doctor, and the other color shirts are just other characters rarely dying in the story. Star Wars is a mix of robots, creatures, and humans and is an entirely different set-up. Star Wars was also in space, but unlike Star Trek was never on earth. It is often set-up around a saving a princess as well. Star Wars was more space battles not planet battles, and as you know star wars is the inventors of the world famous LIGHT SABERS!

Which series is more successful Star Trek or Star Wars?

Star trek is more successful. star wars may have made more money (I am unsure), but I have seen several scientific shows (i.e. Nova science now) and a bunch of scientists/computer programmers have been inspired by star trek. That's an impression that will last much longer than a few houses of george lucas, or some fanboy's star wars blog. (no offense to star wars. I like some of their games a lot.) Thank you for being the first person I know that admits Star Trek was way more succesful. All a have to say is SW=6 movies, 1 ongoing TV show; ST: 11 movies (and counting) and 6 TV shows. To all Star Wars Lovers: Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated.
