According to the Help Center of WikiAnswers, the SPAs "perform tasks such as seeding new questions, recategorizing Q&As, cleaning up vandalism and spam and other critical daily activities that lend to a better overall user experience for all members of our community. They believe in giving for the greater good and are recognized by Supervisors for their time and effort."
When a user decides to become an SPA, they are given tasks in areas that hopefully interest them. The tasks are all submitted by Supervisors, so by completing them, the SPAs know that they are helping in the areas that need it!
The tasks are normally quite simple and might involve things like:
- Splitting and moving alternates around
- Editing questions
- Editing answers
- Removing vandalism
- Recategorizing questions
- Using the search feature
- Sorting out related links
- Cleaning up after a bad user
But most of all, being an SPA is a chance to have some fun while on WikiAnswers!
