Who buys antique merchandise for use in movies?

The answer is not many people. It would depend upon where you are living. Recently, one of the largest and longest established movie property businesses in Hollywood was forced to close because movie makers were making more movies abroad because it was cheaper for them and business had tailed off to the point that the business was no longer viable. Accordingly, when a movie requires certain props, furniture or whatever, the property person will have sources already in positon where he or she will go to find the items that they need. These might include S/H clothes stores, antiques stores, S/H furniture stores, thrift shops or wherever.
