Behind the iPodiPod is a portable media player launched by the Apple company in October 2001.

The basic idea for the iPod iTunes was originally thought up by Tony Fadell, an independent contractor who presented the idea to many companies including Apple. Fadell and a creative team of designers, engineers, and programmers worked together on the final product. Steve Jobs created the device's shape, feel, detail and design with the aid of Jonathan Ive, the director of Apple Co's Industrial Design Group.
