The first jet plane was built in 1910 by Henri Coandă, a Romanian inventor and aerodynamics pioneer.
In 1910, he designed, built and piloted the first 'thermojet' powered aircraft, known as the Coandă-1910, which he demonstrated publicly at the second International Aeronautic Salon in Paris.

"Discovered" is not the proper term. Properly speaking neither is "invented." Like many complex machines, the airplane was developed - expanding on, improving and modifying existing technology.
Credit is almost universally given to The Wright Brothers. However there are other contenders such as Karl Jatho, William Pearse and Gustave Whitehead. However these early airplanes lacked the qualities which made the Wright's craft successful: Control.
The three crucial qualities of aircraft control are roll, pitch and yaw. The Wrights, after considerable experimentation, achieved all three in their 1903 Flyer. In addition the Wrightssuccessfullymarketed their aircraft - something which previous airplane developers had failed to do.
The Wrights deserve credit not only because their aircraft was successful but because of their exhaustive research and development. They designed and built their own lightweight aluminum engine and conducted some of theearliestwind tunnel testing (with a wind tunnel which they also designed and built).
Upon discovering that the aeronautical data upon which they had been basing their glider tests (data gathered by Otto Lilienthaland Octave Chanute) was not accurate, the Wrights decided to disregard existing data and conduct their own research.
Credit should also be given to the Wrights for the independentfinancing of their project. No government money was used. The funds came largely from the proceeds of their bicycle shop.SamuelLangley, on the other hand was funded by the federal government to the tune of $70,000.00 - an astronomical sum at that time.Langleyfailed toachieveflight.
Given their experience as bicycle mechanics, the Wrights realized that an aircraft must operate in more than two dimensions - it must be able to bank; lean into turns, like a bicycle.
On December 17, 1903 the Wright Flyer lifted itself into the air, piloted by Orville Wright at KilldevilHill Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
Clément Ader is usually concidered as the first man who succeed to made a "heavier than air" to fly in 1890.
His first flying machine was called Éole or Avion I ; it was supposed to have reached an altitude of only several centimeters on some tens of metres lenght.
Notice an interesting thing : "Avion" became the French word for "aircraft".
Anyway, the first efficient aircraft was the "Flyer I" invented and built by the Wright brothers ; it flew the first time in 1903.
Nobody 'invented' the first airplane - they were developed after much trial and many errors in the USA, France, Britain and other countries all through the late 1890's. MANY inventors across the world invented and flew short flights in aircraft before the Wright brothers. -
The first air plane was invented by Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright !
The Wright brothers created the first flyable airplane, in 1903.

A jet plane is any aircraft powered by jet engines.
It depends on the caliber of the shell used and where on the plane they hit. Also, why is this in a WW1 section? Jet's weren't invented until WWII
In the 1970s
Sir Frank Whittle is generally accepted as the inventor of the modern turbo jet engine
ca. 1895
Jet planes are faster than the normal propeller powered airplanes. Jet planes were invented by Sir. Frank Whittle. There are also supersonic Jet planes. Concorde was the fastest Passenger Jet plane.
The Germans invented it during WWII.
The jet plane was invented for easier and faster transportation. This plane was also invented and created for military purposes.
1950, I Think. Wrongo it's 1939.
A jet plane is any aircraft powered by jet engines.
he didn't. He just lied about it years after othewrs invented the jet. I, Sorin Ligureanu am ashamed that coanda was such a worthless liar.

Leaving On A Jet Plane - John Denver
Leaving on a Jet Plane was created in 1967.
It is false that a plane flying against a jet stream will travel faster than a plane traveling with a jet stream.
The force of the jet engine propels a jet plane. The force of the engine pushes the exhaust gasses backward at great speed and the plane moves forward. This force propels the jet plane.
