YAHSHUA is the son who died for our sins

YAH is the holy spirit "lord"

Answer:

He is both God and Lord. Saying this however does not mean he is the same person as God the Father or the Holy Spirit. They are three distinct persons in the Trinity.

Christian PerspectiveThe answer to this question depends on which denominations of Christianity you are asking.

First answer:

Mark's Gospel describes Jesus as the son of God, adopted by God at the time of his baptism; it makes it clear that Jesus did not regard himself as either divine or equal to God. Matthew's Gospel and Luke's Gospel describe Jesus as the Son of God from his virgin birth, but do not portray him as God or pre-existing. John's Gospel, for the first time, describes Jesus as both divine and pre-existing; it re-enforces this by having Jesus claim to be God on several occasions (in Greek, but this can not readily be translated into English, so the meaning is not clear).

So, biblically, whether Jesus is God or the Son of God depends on which gospel is your preferred source. The Christian Church generally takes a position that Jesus is both God, as one of the three persons of the Holy Trinity, and the Son of God the Father.

Second answer:

Jesus is God, and has existed for all eternity (though not known by that name before his incarnation). Colossians 2:9: "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily"(in human form). The Godhead is a union and communion of Three in One. The Father expressed Himself perfectly and begat Jesus the Son, who is God. Jesus is the only person who has a true God nature and true human nature. He is fully God and fully man. He therefore has two wills, a divine will and human will. To say "Jesus is the Son of God" is accurate with the understanding that "Jesus is God the Son". This was revealed by the will of God.

The Gospels clearly show Jesus considered Himself God and the Jews knew that Jesus considered Himself to be God and put Jesus to death for this. All the Gospels are in union with no differences whatsoever. Some who are ignorant of Scriptures do not know that Jesus has a dual nature, human nature and Divine Nature. Jesus also has two wills, a human will and Divine Will. So, some who ignorantly misinterpret Scriptures will claim that Jesus did not know He was God or did not consider Himself as God.

Some say that Jesus was a great prophet or a good man. However, Jesus cannot be considered simply either. He came claiming to be God. So, He was either God, or a terrible blasphemer. The Jews in authority at the time of Christ's ministry had him put to death strictly because Jesus claimed to be God.

Some get confused by the dual nature of Jesus being true God and true Man, and don't think about Jesus' human nature as well. Jesus is the anointed One by the will of the Father. Jesus being the unique God-Man allows Him to be anointed with the Holy Spirit. Some are confused about the Holy Spirit.

Many heretics have also denied that Jesus is God. Anyone who claims Jesus is not God is not a Christian. If you don't know that Jesus is God, then you don't know the Father either. To claim Jesus is not God, is ignorance of proper meanings of Scriptures and ignorance of the revealed attributes of God.

Jesus came speaking to the Jews, whom were given the promise of the Messiah as recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures. Jesus spoke to the Jews in the language they understood, in fulfillment of the OT promises as He showed how He fulfilled all the prophecies about the Messiah. He also referred to Himself as the "I AM" (John 8:58) which Jews knew meant God alone. The Jews wanted to kill Jesus for blasphemy, because they understood Jesus was claiming to be God (which is true). One must interpret Scriptures as they were intended, because Scriptures were not written so that it would be impossible for even the most ignorant and uneducated person not to misunderstand. God also said we must listen to His Church, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.

Jesus said the last and greatest of the OT prophets was John. Jesus established His New Covenant Church to teach, and sent His Apostles to teach with authority in His Holy Name. At the death of the last Apostle, John in about 105 AD, this signaled the end of public revelation about God. Anyone who teaches a different Gospel than Jesus is Lord and God, is a heretic and knows not God. So-called "prophecy" which came later and described Jesus as only one of many prophets is not from God. This false prophecy only claimed a person greater than Christ, yet was not foretold himself and foretold nothing. There are numerous and grave errors in this false prophet's book, chief among which are to claim Jesus is merely a prophet, when Jesus is God.

If those who considered Jesus at least a prophet would actually listen to His words, they would realize that Jesus said the Prophet John is the greatest OT prophet and more than a prophet he came in the office of Elijah. Jesus Himself is greater than John. Jesus' own words show that He is the Son of God which is to be God, and not a son of God as we humans are who have one nature.

If people actually honor what Jesus said about God, they would worship Jesus. So, to call Jesus simply a good man, or even simply a great prophet is actually blasphemy, and is ignorant of history and of the revelation of God.

Third answer:

Most people think of "God" incorrectly... as a single person... rather than as a "family."

"In the beginning God..." (Gen.1:1).

"God" [the Literal Bible LIT]: "Elohim" (pronounced - el-o-heem'); "Plural... gods in the ordinary sense..." (Strong's Definitions).

This "inspired" word for "God" in the Hebrew scriptures goes virtually unnoticed by most folks. "Elohim" is a "uni-plural" word like "family" or "group" or "club" or "association." They are "single entities" made up of "many members."

The Bible repeatedly refers to "God" in the "familial" sense: Father and Son. The church is God's wife and the Holy City, New Jerusalem, The Mother of God's Children!

"...They broke that covenant, though I Loved them as a Husband Loves His Wife, says the Lord." (Jer.31:32 NLT New Living Translation)

"...I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a Beautiful Bride prepared for Her Husband." (Rev.21:2 NLT)

"...Sarah, the free woman, represents the Heavenly Jerusalem. And She is Our Mother... And You, dear brothers and sisters, Are the Children of Promise..." (Gal.4:26 & 28 NLT).

Since the beginning... Satan has kept the world blinded to this wonderful Truth of God, that most people refuse to believe, even when they do read it in the inspired Scriptures.

God is creating for himself a family through mankind; "created in his image."

And mankind... spiritually asleep to God's Truth [His Word, the Bible] still doesn't see or believe it. God made marriage and the family structures to show mankind what He's doing here on earth -- procreating the family of God. Therefore, when asked: "Is Jesus the Son of God, or God?" -- few people see "God" as a "Family"... and that "GOD" is a "Plural family name;" like the name "Smith" or "Jones" or "Brown." Just as "Bob Jones" is the "son of his father, Smith" -- so is Jesus Christ Both; God [of the God Family] and God's "Firstborn" Son!

"...God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the Firstborn, with many brothers and sisters." (Rom.8:29 NLT)

And when the inspired Scriptures say: "...His Holy Spirit... tells us that we are God's children..." (Rom.8:16 NLT) -- an unbelieving and spiritually blinded world refuses to grasp and understand such a plain, simple... and truly marvelous statement.

And when God says: "...I will be their God, and they will be my children." (Rev.21:7 NLT) It's too mind-blowing for man's finite mind to grasp.

And so the argument continues among deceived men. They have no problem understanding that "the son of Jones" is both the son of his father... and Jones. But just can't make the transition in their minds and hearts about "God."

Jesus Christ is revealed to have been the "Word" of God [John 1]... the Creator God of the Old Testament [verse 3] who said, "Let there be light." And He also said:

"...Let us make people in Our image, to be like Ourselves..." (Gen.1:26 NLT).

Plural.

"The Father and I are One." (John 10:30 NLT) "One," as a "family" is one unit made up of many.

One day, the world will know who Jesus Christ is: both God... and His Father's Son!

"...they will not need to teach their family, saying, 'You should know the Lord.' For everyone from the least to the greatest, will already know Me." (Heb.8:11 NLT)

But, till then, the question will be repeated in disbelief.

Fourth Answer (Muslim's Perspective)Jesus (peace be upon him) is neither God nor son of God. He is one of the greatest prophets who called Jews and other people to worship God; the Creator, as one and only one God with no partner, no son, no father, no companion, no associate, and no equivalence. Per Islam religion, Jesus (peace be upon him) is believed as one of the greatest prophets and one of the greatest messengers of God to mankind.

In the Quran, there is a complete chapter (or Surah) titled 'Maryam' (Mary) that confirms Maryam virgin birth. The Quran states the following on the birth of Jesus (peace be upon him):

{(Remember) when the angels said, "O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous." She said, "My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?" He said, "So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, 'Be!' and it is."} (Quran, chapter 3, verses 45-47)

Jesus was born as miracle by the word and command of God. This command is, as said in Quran, the same command that had brought Adam into being with neither a father nor a mother. God has said in Quran:

{The case of Jesus with God is like the case of Adam. He created him from dust, and then He said to him, "Be!" and he came into being.} (Quran, chapter 3, verse 59)

During the prophetic mission of Jesus (peace be upon him), Jesus performed many miracles. God tells us that Jesus said:

{I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you the shape of a bird out of clay, I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God's permission. I heal the blind from birth and the leper. And I bring the dead to life by God's permission. And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses....}

Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified. They believe that the enemies of Jesus (peace upon him) plotted and planned to crucify Jesus. However, God miraculously saved Jesus and raised him up to Him (to God). God, the all Powerful and the all Capable, put the likeness of Jesus (peace upon him) over another man. The enemies of Jesus (peace upon him) thought that the this other man is Jesus and they took him and crucified him. God has said:

{...They said, "We killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God." They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man)... } (Quran, chapter 4, verse 157)

It is worthy to emphasize that both Jesus (peace upon him) and Muhammad, or may be spelled Mohamed, (peace upon him) came to mankind to call for worshiping only and the only one God. Neither of them nor Moses came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one and only God. this doctrine that was brought by earlier prophets from including Noah, Abraham, Isac, Jacob, David, Solomon, and others. both Jesus (peace upon him) and Mohamed received the revelation from God to confirm and renew the doctrine of worshiping one (and only one) God.

Quran says: "They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah (or God and same God worshiped in Christianity and Judaism) is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers. " (5:72).

Quran says also that:"They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. " (5:73-75)

It is worthy to emphasize that both Jesus (peace upon him) and Mohamed, or may be spelled Muhammad, (peace upon him) came to mankind to call for worshiping only and the only one God. Neither of them nor Moses came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one and only God. This doctrine that was brought by earlier prophets including Noah, Abraham, Isac, Jacob, David, Solomon, and others. Both Jesus and Mohamed (peace upon them) received the revelation from God to confirm and renew the doctrine of worshiping one (and only one) God.

Answer Yes. If you want proof read "The case for Christ" or The Bible. Not even Science can dispute Christianity. Answer Of course it can, read Richard Dawkins "The Blind Watchmaker" or the more recent "The God Delusion" for just several easily accessible examples. Blind faith is a feature of some people's religion but it wont equip you for a dispute, you need to know both sides.

Well - - both really; if you understand the words correctly.

The word 'god' in the Bible is applied to angels, even humans. The word simply means 'mighty one' or 'strong one'; nothing more, nothing less. (Most religions make toooo much of the word; therefore the confusion.)

But yes; Jesus is in fact 'a' god; without a doubt.

But this in-no-way is to imply that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY GOD. Jesus is certainly NOT the same as Jehovah God. Jehovah God is The Almighty God. Jesus is simply called 'Mighty God'; NOT - ALL- Mighty. Jesus is the son of Jehovah God. The Father is greater than the son.

AnswerTwo religions have Jesus as a significant factor - Islam and Christianity. The Christian position is convoluted depending on the sect providing the answer and no universally acceptable position is available. In Islam Jesus is seen as a prophet not a deity. They are one and the same: John 20:28 Thomas declares "My Lord, My God" to Jesus. This literally means "The Lord of me, The God of me." Jesus didn't rebuke him, but pronounced a blessing on those who would come to this belief without touching His resurrected body, but came in faith.

If JESUS CHRIST is the Saviour, then He is also the Creator.

Read Hebrew 13:8,Gen. 1:1and Rev. 22:21.Please really devote yourself before reaching the bible. Do not challenge the word of God.

Another Answer:

John was inspired to tell us in John 1:1-4, 14 that before Jesus as the then Word and 'the God' took on the roles of a Father and Son for the purposes of fulfilling that part of God's Plan of Salvation, He was with God (think surname here) and was God. Because the sins of mankind required a blood sacrifice, God sent His Word to fulfill this need - a perfect man in lieu of all mankind for their sins. At this point in mankind's time on the earth, God wanted to show how He would beget each and everyone of us who fully repented, was baptized as an outward sign of change and following Christ (see Acts 2:38-41) - He is Jesus and Jesus in each of us (see John 10:30) - oneness or unity of the God Family (see John 17:23). God became a Father by begetting His Son, Jesus. Now their Holy Spirit can be given to all who are called to Christ (see John 6:44, 65).

Jesus was God (the Word or Logos) with 'the God' from eternity. These 2 divine beings took on the roles of Father and Son via the begettal process that all mankind is born from. However, this pictures our spiritual birth process of God's Holy Spirit with our human spirit creating a new creature who, if he/she remains strong to the end, will become sons and daughters in the God Family for eternity - divine beings (see Romans 8:16-17) and below:

2 Corinthians 6:17-18New King James Version (NKJV)

17 Therefore "Come out from among them

And be separate, says the Lord.

Do not touch what is unclean,

And I will receive you."[a]

18 "I will be a Father to you,

And you shall be My sons and daughters,

Says the Lord Almighty."[b]

the answer is, strictly speaking, to "God the Father," but since the Trinity is One God, we can't address the Father without at least implicitly including the Son and Holy Spirit.

That's why, though these prayers are to the Father, they are "through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen."

But there are also other times during Mass when we do address our prayers directly to Jesus rather than to the Father, namely whenever we ask for forgiveness of our sins.

Since he is the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world," it's mainly him whom we ask to have mercy on us, both in the Penitential Rite at the beginning of Mass and at the Lamb of God just before Communion. But again, not to the exclusion of the Father and the Holy Spirit, because I also pray "May Almighty God - the Father - have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life".
