Mariana Bridi da Costa was a Brazilian model who became a finalist twice in the Miss Brazil World Pageant. She led a fairly successful modeling career in addition to her career in pageantry. Bridi first began modeling in local fashion shows and competitions when she was 14-years-old.
After being misdiagnosed with kidney stones, she ended up suffering from a severe urinary tract infection as well as septicemia (bacteria in the blood), which resulted in her feet and hands being amputated. Unfortunately, she passed away on January 24th from complications, including internal bleeding and multiple organ failure. She was only 20-years-old at the time of her death. Little is known about her family and other personal information since--until the time of her death making news headlines--most of the world had not heard of her.
