Adolphe Sax invented the saxophone in 1846. He wanted to create a link between woodwind and brass instruments in military bands, so he created what we now know as the alto sax. He didn't plan to make more, but somebody convinced him to create the full quartet, and the rest is history.
Bill Clinton played the tenor saxophone.
The saxophone was named for its 1840s inventor Adolphe Sax. 'Saxophone' means voice of Sax. The voice of the man who created the saxophone. Though often made of brass, the instrument is actually part of the woodwind family - this because the tone is produced using a cane reed.
The soprillo saxophone.
The saxophone comes from the two American inventors: Cheech (Richard Marin) and Chong (Tommy Chong). They accidentally built it after attempting to build a high-tech bong, then when they first tested it they realized that it made music. That is why they originally named it the "Musical Bong." Then when they needed extra income to buy more Marijuana, they sold it to Belgium. Later on Belgium named in the Saxophone, and took all the credit for its presence.

The Saxophone... named for Adolphe Sax.
The root word for saxophone is "sax," named after its inventor, Adolphe Sax, who created the instrument in the mid-19th century.
The saxophone is named after its inventor Adolphe Sax. The instruments he designed, saxhorns, are the ancestors of modern saxophones, flugelhorns, and euphoniums.
Sax - is the surname of the instrument's inventor (Adolphe Sax - a Belgian). The word 'phone' means sound.
The word "saxophone" is derived from the name of its inventor, Adolphe Sax, a Belgian musical instrument maker and designer who patented the saxophone in 1846. The term has since become widely used to refer to this particular type of woodwind instrument.
The word "saxophone" entered the English language in the mid-19th century, named after its inventor, Adolphe Sax, a Belgian instrument maker. He patented the saxophone in 1846, and as the instrument gained popularity, the name became widely recognized.
Adolphe Sax was the inventor of the first saxophone. He made it in1841. I love the sax, it's my favourite intrument!!!
Born 1814, invented the saxophone in 1849, so doing the maths we get: 34 or 35 (depends on what part of the year he was born in and what part of the year he made his invention public).
I can only assume that "he" was Adolph Sax, since he was the inventor of the Saxophone. (He also invented a set of horns which he named SaxHorns.) It may be news to you, but every inventor is notable for having died after their most impressive inventions were invented. It is hard to invent after you are dead. In Sax's case, he patented the Saxophone in 1846 (although Berlioz was aware that Sax was busy inventing them as early as 1844.) He died in 1894, thus meeting the requirement of dying after the invention.
