The previous answer is wrong, actually four weekdays are named after norse gods. Three of them are more or less the same in English as in the original Norse.

I will be using the Norwegian equivelants to these weekdays, as it is the closest you get to ancient Norse.

I have written the norwegian name of the god, the norwegian name of the day, and the english translation.

Anyway, these days are as follows:

Ty dag = Tirsdag = Tuesday (Ty, God of War)

Odin dag = Onsdag = Wednesday (Odin = chief god / god of wisdom. This is where the english didn't adopt the name, but made one up themselves)

Tor dag = Torsdag = Thursday (Thor, god of thunder)

Frøya dag = Fredag = Friday (Freyja, goddess of love and fertility)

*To clarify, the norwegian word dag means day

And regarding who was the most popular norse god.

If you mean the god most people prayed and sacrificed to, that would be Freyr, Freyja and Njord, as these were the gods associated with fertility (for crops), hunting, fishing and other day-to-day things.

When the vikings went to battle, on the other hand, they prayed to Ty, Odin and Thor, for good luck and such
