I have actually seen this go down in my chicken run many times. The chicken wins every time. To top it off, all the other chickens will gang up on whatever the first one attacks. Squirrels are greedy little critters, so they will keep trying to get into whatever the chickens have. They will come back and get their butts kicked day after day.

Any kind of animal will fight with another to try and prove that their species is better than the others'. it could be a chicken and a squirrel, an owl and a hawk, any combination of animals will fight for any reason! While it is true that many species of animals will fight, they do not fight to show the superiority of their species, as suggested above.Animals fight for their territoryAnimals fight to compete for foodPets may fight to compete for attention
a chicken can have a chickenpox but an elephant cant have a elephantpox
Fox- "You wanna fight?" Chicken- "NO!" Fox- "Why?" Chicken- "I'm a Chicken!"
I don't have any chicken. LOL
I would have to say the squirrel. Sure, mice can easily run and hide but squirrels are fierce, and fast. They know what they want. That's why I think a squirrel would win.

Obviously. I have never seen a "tamed" squirrel, as that is generally rare.
They nurse them until around 8- 10 weeks, then they usually start taking them on outings and showing them how to forage. They are fiercely protective of their babies, and show their young how to fight as well. Some young females will stay with their mother up to a year old.
