Which rifle??? Which model, so, you left too many variables to answer directly, however if you allow me to get on my soap=box,

I can are refer to a magazine for the notorious Remington 597 in .17 cal,,,,, the answer is "they are junk"!!! The components are cheap, crudely made, ineffective, poorly engineered and otherwise "junk". They have been assembled by monkeys (they could not find a football).

Thank you, now that that is out of my system, most magazines function properly unless they are bent or damaged. Notice i said "most".. try another magazine or two to determine if it is the fault of the magazine or the rifle.

Try disassembling the magazine and polishing the edges of the parts so they slide better.... seems like you could spend a long time attempting a cure before you throw it away and simply buy another magazine.

Remington magazine followers can jam due to various reasons, including dirt or debris buildup, worn out or damaged parts, improper assembly, or weak magazine spring tension. To address the issue, thoroughly clean and inspect the magazine, replace any worn parts, ensure proper assembly, and consider upgrading to a stronger magazine spring if needed.

My Remington 870 mag only hold 2 2 34 in shells in the mag why is that?

In order to comply with migratory bird laws, Remington has installed a plug in your magazine. To remove it, simply unscrew the magazine cap, and I've seen two types of spring catches on Remingtons, so if it's a plastic one with a slot in it, press it in and rotate a quarter turn. If it's a C-Shaped metal ring, pull one end out with a screwdriver. Careful, as this will also release spring pressure. Tilt the shotgun forward, and the plug and your follower should drop out. Put the follower back in with the spring behind it, put back in the spring catch, and put the magazine cap back on the magazine. You should have a full capacity magazine tube now.

What should you do to unjam your ak47 magazine?

If you're having problems with an AK mag jamming, you probably need to replace the spring. As for clearing the initial jam, typically, either the front or rear of the cartridges would be angled down further. You can apply pressure to the opposite end in order to try getting them level again. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to remove the floor plate (be careful when you do this, and the pressure could cause the spring to shoot out), then pull out the magazine and follower. When you do this, inspect the follower while you're at it, to ensure it's not bent or otherwise deformed.
