The question is somewhat nebulous, and somebody also, in connection with Helen Keller , asked about the Sullivan Law. The Sullivan Law, dating to l920 is a tight gun control law in New York State- It tightly restricts what are now called handguns ( pistols and revolvers, particularily concealable one) there are exceptions for police and security guards, armored-car personnel, etc, but few sporting angles. The Sullivan Law is one of the more unpopular Gun control laws in the US. The attempted assasination of Mayor Gaynor in I believe l9l3 helped prompt the concern. Gaynor recovered but died fairly young some years later.- now to Anne Sullivan, she was the teacher of Helen Keller. Unlike her pupil , she was not totally blind and did have (possibly she had an operation on her eye) some limited vision and wore eyeglasses- regular, not dark. She was married to a man named Macy- hence is known as Anne Sullivan Macy. I believe she died in either l93l or l935 look it up.
