Capital punishment should be banned in India as well because it is a Human Right to live one's own life. In prison people are anyway productive; no man is useless; everyone is useful. Rather, capital punishment is an easy way out for the criminal. Those should live life for others in the prison or the society. Or else, abortion at the other end of life should as well be allowed at every stage of pregnancy because one of the parents or the society wants.
there is always a chance the person is innocent and you cannot un-execute them, also one could argue that while a person is still alive they have a chance to change.
P.S. this is not a balanced arguement or my opinion i'm just giving the points he/she asked for.
IT SHOULD NOT . It needs to be expanded to include all violent crimes . This would make it a legitimate deterrent , instead of sending criminals to what amounts to finishing school .
The politically correct policies of today, that is costing good citizens peace and millions of dollars, needs to be immediately rethought . We need to quit blamming differant forms of entertainment ( ie. movies and Video Games ) and put the blame , on increasing drastic crime , where it belongs : the " delicate treatment of offenders ."
