=They believed in gods and goddesses because when crazy stuff would happen, like a volcanoe erupting, they needed answers, so around 1600 b.c. they gathered mythology from around the world and created the greek mythology. Mythology gave them something to worship, and they had questions like why did Spiders spin webs and why do tsunami's occur. This was their life until science discovered the sun was no charriot ridden by Apollo, and Artemis did not shoot out bows of light at night. Volcanoes were not a snake throwing a tempertantrum and shooting out smokes of light. Science did ruin their beliefs, but it sure did give some interesting stories to tell.=

Well myths are believed by the people speaking them and made up to explain some purpose to the world. This means some people might still believe in that or some people like to learn about them because they are interested in why these gods and goddesses were there and their special 'powers'.

Many people still believe in the Greek gods and goddesses.. The Greek government is pressing these people by forbidding them from practicing their faith at culturally significant temples and ruins.Their reasons for their belief are the same as those of any theist believing in any deity and just as justified.
