Europeans control such a small portion of Africa in the 1800's, because the African people were powerful due to their numbers. They often fought, without fear, due to thinking that their Gods would save them. They were sure their Gods made them invincible and the guns would not hurt them. They were so powerful that the Europeans couldn't control them for 400 years.
