i think you have not addressed the reason why he left Not all guys do, i broke up wif my last girlfriend (she was heart broken) and i have punished myself by avoiding any kind of complment from a girl
Because they don't want to feel like they've lost something, or it could be to "get back" at the girl (if she initiated the break-up). It's usually one of these two.

Well if the guy was dumped he might be embaressed and think that the girl he is in love with dosent want him anymore, and he wants to prove to her that he dosent want her back by dating other girls. Or he might be doing that to show people that he is okay and that he dosent need anyones sympathy, he thinks that by dating another girl he can get over the girl he is still in love with and not be in any more pain.
