I guess it all depends on the personality of the person! I myself am fascinated by severe thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes. But I love to spend my days on a cool summer evening with a light wind. Essentially, it is like asking "why do people like the color blue?" I don't think anyone can really answer that.
