For those who are not required to use a computer for work purposes, there are other motivating factors on a more personal level. These include the challenge of keeping up with the times and/or their children, as well as the opportunity of satisfying their curiosity by pursuing a new interest.
However, other respondents indicated that nothing would motivate them because they are not interested, or perceive themselves too old to need to learn how to use a computer. Without some additional education to change attitudes these people are unlikely to access computer literacy programs no matter where they are offered
Um well computers provide caluclators enetertamint and have 100% better picture than HD TVs also games when you are bored and are resourceful and if you are a old guy well um.... its preety pointless i wouldn't disagree with you because some day you gonna be away and umm Microsoft and tecnology is gonna take over so well nvm thiers no point explaining to you also instead of finding a billion books just type it in on Google and besides if you don't want one how did you get on wiki????

We use computers to make life easier and, primarily, more entertaining. Humanity functioned well for thousands of years before them.
People need computers to do everything from shopping, writing papers, playing Video Games, work, pretty much everything and anything has to do with them
