And if you are scared to make the first move because you think she doesn't want you to just look for signs that she wants you to and after you make the first move she will go with it and will probably be more comfortable making the first move next time

Because that's just how some of us feel it should be, like me for example, I always wait for the guy to make the first move. If he doesn't, then i feel that it's not meant to be. Many women are also afraid to.

Well, in most mammals, males make the first move because their the dominant sex.

In humans, females are made,(naturally), to want male attention, affection, and protection. That's why girls get turned on when a guy raps his arms around her from behind, she feels safe.

Guys' feelings are very sensitive, even if they don't act that way. They think if they mess up you will dump them and then there friends will laugh at them.

Because they lack the confidence level, confident man is the sexiest beast around. Have you ever noticed that some of the ugliest guys have some of the prettiest women? That is because they display a level of confidence that is more attractive to women than physical looks.

Although this narrative is becoming a whole lot less expected nowadays, almost every famous film (especially rom coms), book, TV show etc. involves guys making the first move. What also doesn't help, is 'will they won't they' plotlines. It gives a lot of guys the impression that if they persistently make move upon move upon move, then eventually the girl will cave in. This is hardly ever a good idea, and in most instances is understood to be harassment.

However that whole narrative is starting to become outdated, due to the current avid demolition of gender roles in most Western societies.

Guys often make the first move because they feel like it's what's expected of them. They feel like it's their role to win a woman's affection, the woman in this instance, idly sits by waiting to be wooed. It almost sounds old fashioned enough to be medieval haha.

Anyone can make moves on anybody they like, without having to feel ashamed or as if they have to fulfill any particular obligation or meet any particular standard other than the standard they've set for themselves.- seems to very much be the way things are going at the moment, and rightly so.
