Denominations, meaning a group of religious congregations having its own organization and a distinctive faith. I suppose the main reason being, that all denominations cannot agree as to how the words of the scriptures should be interpreted.
Rather than listen to a denomination that preaches that which is contrary to your belief you gather together with a group that is of the same mind as yourself. Or you are drawn to the teaching of a particular denomination.
