First of all, I dont think Adeline Yen Mah hates her parents, there was a part in her book: "chinese cinderella" where she said that she still yearns her father's acceptance. Adeline's dad treated her like she was invisible. Her Niang or Mother would treat her like dirt, disciminating her from her friends, and even her half siblings. It is safe to say that Adeline was a neglected child. Once in her book, she was on a train( or was it an airplane) a steward/stewardess asked her if her parents were there to fill out something for her and she said yes. Later when her Niang was sleeping her dad went to her and asked her WHAT HER REAL NAME WAS (Yen jun Ling) AND THEN HE ASKED HER WHEN HER BIRTHDAY WAS. Yet she forgot it so the dad just gave her his birthday (November 30)
