Your cat probably strached his eye. when you are dealing with eyes, the best treatment is from a doctor. Take it to the vet. If there is a scratch in the cornea he will need some antibiotics to prevent a secondary infection from getting started while it heals. If it is an eye infection call "conjuntivitis" it will still need opthalmic ointment or drops to clear it up. It is probably something simple, but why take a chance with cat loosing his sight. opthalmalic ointment works very well.

∙ 11y agoDogs develop bloodshot eyes for many of the same reasons any mammal (including humans) do: irritation, infection, dry eye and foreign body would be on the top of my list.
Certain breeds of dogs have malformed eyelids as part of their breed standard - a veterinarian can correct this relatively easily during surgery.
