You have proteins, carbohydrates and fats in your food, that need to be digested. All of these molecules are too big to be absorbed. Proteins need to be digested to the level of the amino acids. Other wise your immunity will take objection to the same. Carbohydrates are too large and insoluble to be absorbed. They are split to the level of monomers like glucose. Fats are split to glycerol and fatty acids, before absorbed.
