The skin will wrinkle because your skin is made up of two layers. The outer layer is called the epidermis and the lower level is the dermis. The outer layer (epidermis) produces an oily substance called sebum. You can see this substance when you touch a window or mirror and your "oily" fingerprint is left there. One job sebum does is it keeps water out of your skin-a job that it does very well. However, after long periods of time in a swimming pool, shower, or bathtub, much of the sebum is washed off and your outer layer of skin starts to absorb water. As it absorbs water it swells, but since the epidermis is "tied" down to your dermis in certain spots, it expands more where it is not "tied" down and this causes your skin to wrinkle. The difference between your skin and a raisin is that raisins wrinkle because they shrink, but your skin wrinkles because it is getting bigger. Once you get out of the pool or tub, the water that your skin absorbed will evaporate, your skin will return to its usual size, and you body will produce more sebum. Your fingers and toes will be back to normal in no time.

Usually our skin is water resistant with the help of keratin which is part of a cell to resist water and bacteria. After a long bath or a dip in the pool this resistance lessens, and the cells soak up the water and expand. causing the wrinkles. Eventually the water evaporates, and when it does the skin on your fingertips turn back to normal.

it has to do something with osmosis. The reason normally the fingers/hands appear wrinkled after spending time in the pool/bath/washing up is that your body always tries to balance the salt concentration inside your body with the outside.
because the water is drying up the mierals on yaur skin

An easy quick, at home way to clean your own carpet:Supplies: rag, hand soapGet some hand soap and put it all over the stainGet a rag, and get it wet (not soaked because then the carpet gets soaked and takes longer to dry)Then go to the stain and start rubbing it. The harder you rub, the faster and better way it can come outIf, everything looks good you should rinse with water and a wet-dry vacuum. Pour a cup of water on the area then suck up the water and repeat. To speed the dry time of the area, use a fan or hair dyers for a short time.Everytime I have done this, it has worked
By rubbing it between and over your hands, hand soap acts to remove dirt, germs and other contaminants from your skin. Some hands soaps may also help moisturize your skin. Most, but not all, hand soaps work best when combined with water during the washing process.
Pure hydrogen peroxide certainly can cause chemical burns if it touches your skin. Hydrogen peroxide you buy from a drugstore is typically about 3% hydrogen peroxide and 97% water. As far as your skin is concerned, as long as you're not actually bathing in it it's not all that different from 100% water. You should be careful with even the dilute stuff around your eyes and mouth though; the mucous membranes are much more sensitive.
because we are all old ladies
soaked through all your clothing including undergarments... usually cold water
Because all the colors get soaked out in the water.
I think raisins look different after soaking in water because it soaks up all the moisture. Think about when you go to the pool and swim for a long time. Doesnt your skin get wrinkled? Its the same thing with the raisins.

A retina has to be smooth and not wrinkled so the image that is formed by the lens is in focus at all points. If it were wrinkled, some areas of the image would be out of focus; it is smooth to best reflect the light.
All reeds need to be soaked to soften them before playing. This allows them to vibrate as you play. A hard, dry reed will crack rather than vibrate. Single reeds for instruments such as clarinet & saxophone are soaked by sucking them before placing them on the instruments. Double reeds for Oboe, Cor Anglais & Bassoon need to be soaked in water due to the different shape of the reed. Sucking them in the mouth does not soak the entire reed.
