Why have young bands stopped doing tours?

I believe the main reason for younger bands and artists who have stopped touring is because, in the new generation people have become lazy, whilst being spoon fed throughout their childhood as this is a generation where parents have the ability and income to allow this. So as these artists are continuously on tour, travelling all over the world and getting little rest, it can become tiresome and hard work for them. The more they do it the less enjoyable it becomes as their motivation has lowered. For example Zayn from One Direction recently left the band, and the main reason for this was because the band were always on tour and he lost motivation and enjoyment. This is where these young bands turn to festivals as it provides a better vibe and feel when performing (something new and different perhaps) which means the bands and artists still enjoy doing it. It is also less pressure on them as other artists are performing, which some artists may not like, but most will prefer. This is why the ones mainly touring are the older artists (when i say older i mean over 35 years old). The classic big bands e.g. U2, Green Day, Foo fighters, Fleetwood Mac and Paul McCartney of course are all still touring and love doing it because they have the rock 'n' roll attitude which they have had since they started and where never controlled by the money!
