It's probably because the tap washer is made of the incorrect material for a hot tap which must have a degree of temperature resistance. If not, the tap washer could swell and expand when the hot water flows, thus cutting off the flow.

The hot water tap may be blocked by mineral deposits, thus forcing water through the cold water tap.

Stratification of hot water molecules going into the cold water supply because the installer did not install a heat sink to prevent this kind of condition

Heat goes to the absence of heat. In another words the hotter water enters the cold water supply and this could be a very dangerous situation as the water in a tankless coil or storage tank is actually an incubator for all types of dangerous bacteria and parasites.

What is the purpose of a water valve?

A water valve is used to regulate, direct, and control the flow of water. It can open, close, or partially obstruct passageways where water can travel and flow.

A light bulb in a simple circuit blows and goes out Is current now flowing in the circuit?

No. Circuit is open but still HOT.

How do you get air out of hot water system?

Any propperly installed hot water heating system will have a high point vent. This consists of some sort of valve at the highest elevation of the entire system. Since air is lighter than water air will collect at the vent point. When the system is under pressure partially open this vent to allow air to escape. When water comes out the vent close it. This may have to be repeated several times to get all of the air out of the system.Open the hot water tap on the sink farthest from the water heater. Be sure the supply valve on the water heater is fully open.

How the thickness of transmission lines reduce resistance?

The electrons in a wire travel mostly along the outside of the wire and hence the bigger the circumference the more surface area decreasing the resistance. An analogy is a vat of water with a valve at the bottom. Imagine that the water is a store of electrons creating a potential or voltage. If you only open the valve a little, the water will flow out of the vat slowly and hence the higher the resistance. As you open the valve further there is less resistance and more water can flow.

What is the difference between a fail open valve and a fail closed valve?

Lets liken this to a garden hose, a hose in the normally open position has water flowing through it until it is closed by turning the spigot off, normally closed is the reverse. Oddly enough when it comes to an electronic relay the opposite is true, whereas the switch is in the open (normally open) position therefore having no current passing through it until a switch to close the circuit and allow current to flow. Normally closed has current flowing at all times until the switch interrupts it stopping the flow of electricity.

What stops water from being lost in a leaf?

On the underside of leaves, there are pores-like proteins called Stomata (Singular-Stoma). THese pores open, close, or partially open depending on the climate. The wider open the pores are, the more transpiration occurs. When the plant wants to conserve water, the proteins close or partially close to limit the amount of evaporation.

What ecosystem is found where the fresh water of a river meets the salt water?

An aquatic ecosystem that is formed by a mixture of salt water and fresh water is known as an estuary. This type of ecosystem has brackish water, which is a mix of fresh and salt water, in an area that is partially enclosed, is fed by a river or stream and is also connected to the open sea.

Why after the hot water in the kitchen heats up the pressure goes out and trickles the hot water?

As the water heats up the washer in the tap, it expands. This causes the washer to partially block the open valve.

Why is the water flowing into your Maytag real slow?

Water pressure, how far the valve is open on the faucet probably should be looked at first. If the hoses are old, you might check for leaks.

What type of a system is a car radiator?

car radiator is an open system...because hot water is coming in and rejecting heat..this means mass and energy r flowing in and out from the system..it is a control volume through which mass is flowing..
