By 'Arun' it mean the sun and 'Achal' stands for anchal i.e, lap inHindi So, now as Arunachal receives the first rays of sun light amongIndianstates its name was born out of it. Saying lap of the Sun

Arun is a Hindi name for sun... Achal means to rise... Since Arunachal pradesh is in the eastern side of India so the sun rises there earliest in the country... thats why it has been names as ARUNACHAL PRADESH.
