The clothing and the culture in Pakistan varies from region to region as it is made from many different ethnic groups and cultures. The clothing from the various part of course reflect the clothing needs of the people, their culture and the climate in which they live. For example the people who live in colder regions such as the Pashtuns and Kalashas wear warmer clothing due to their climate. The Sindhis and Baluchis would need lighter clothing as those regions are hotter. Also religion plays a part in that the clothes require some amount of modesty, which is why many women's clothes include a head covering. Also, Pakistan being part of India until 60 or so years ago, Pakistani clothing has been greatly influenced by India. All regional clothing and dances are influenced some how by India, yet in the north and in the Kashmir Region, you can see more Afghani influence in how they talk, dance, pray, eat, cook, and wear clothes.
