I just got threw with the same problem. There is a heater bypass plastic elbow there. It must be replaced the problem is its a lot of work we had to remove intake manifold. Hope this helps.
Actually it is easy just remove belt from alternator take off alternator 3 bolts, then take off the two hoses they are located under the alternator then take that part off 2 bolts
if plastic elbow are cracked $3 part replace there are 2 elbows get the red sealer and lubercate around elbows both ends and replace. the top elbow put it in the motor first then bottom elbow put it in the other piece, before you shove it into the other elbow place the bottom elbow in position that's it
If you have coolant on the top of the engine it could be a leaky thermostat housing or a leaking intake gasket.
Freeze plugs. More likely that hoses are leaking or thermostat housing is leaking. Freeze Plugs generally NEVER leaks unless engine block has had frozen coolant in it. Hence, Freeze Plugs.
Perhaps you mean by-pass hose. It allows a small amount of coolant to circulate in engine prior to thermostat opening
I think you may be referring to coolant leaking from engine? engine coolant or water can leak from any coolant hose or heater hose, waterpump, thermostat housing etc, wurse case the head gasket is leaking coolant externally, need a pro to check it out
Leaking radiator radiator hose head gasket water pump Heater core thermostat housing
thermostat gasket probably leaking. replace thermostat and gasket making sure that thermostat housing is flat.
Remove the housing and replace the gasket.
Leaking hose? Defective thermostat housing or bad thermostat gasket? Bad water pump or gasket? Leak in radiator? Leak at heater core? Leak at head gasket? Coolant recovery tank?
The thermostat is most likely stuck in the closed position and needs to be replaced. The closed thermostat does not allow the coolant to circulate through the radiator, thus overheating the engine. The reason for water being pushed through the thermostat housing is because the water pump is spinning and there is no place for the coolant to go, therefore, it is leaking out through the housing gasket which is probably already blown (need to replace it when you replace the thermostat.
I thought mine was leaking from the hose also, but I had too much antifreeze in, and also the thermostat was stuck, I only got the leak after driving a long time or in hot weather
The housing gasket may be bad. Replace the gasket.
Replace the thermostat housing seal or gasket.
