There are likely a number of reasons the deer population has increased in Ohio. Deer tend to adjust to their habitat changes and will willingly eat homeowners' landscaping. Farmland has been abandoned and give the deer more area to feed and inhabit. Natural predators have been reduced.

When once there were too few deer, now there are almost too many. To hunters, an over-population isn't too much of a problem unless it affects the health of the herd. To homeowners and drivers, deer are a nuisance and a hazard. The key is finding a happy medium.
