Some people believe that teenagers are inherently lawless, and are likely to commit criminal acts if they are allowed to be out late at night.
Despite the fact that there is no valid evidence whatsoever to support this claim -- and despite the fact that enacting laws that apply only to a certain demographic group or groups is a WHOPPING Civil Rights violation -- many towns, cities, and counties have enacted these laws anyway.
If someone tried to enact a law that said that black people, or women, or the elderly, had to be in their homes from 10 PM to 6 AM, it would never fly. But somehow it's okay if they're teenagers.
Children are dependent on adults from the time they are born. The absence of some or all the basic needs determines whether or not child neglect exists. One of the basic needs is Supervision.
Although supervision is generally not thought of when considering the basic human needs. It is often one of the signs of child neglect that is determined only after a child is injured in some way.
With adolescents, supervision means asking where the youth is going, who he/she is going with, what time he/she will be back, and imposing curfews. Again, I'm stating the obvious when I say a caregiver needs to know where their children or youth are at all times, otherwise child neglect is present. For small children, supervision means not leaving them unattended. Supervision is required daily and during potentially dangerous activities such as swimming and driving.
glendale Wisconsin has no curfew
Obviously teens don't like curfew. But i think ( I'm a teen) that 930 to 1030 is a reasonable curfew for parents and teens...
New York City has no curfew law. Curfew laws have been proposed, but nothing has come of it. And given that the New York State Court of Appeals has recently ruled that teen curfew laws are unconstitutional (see second Related Link), it is unlikely that one will be passed anytime soon.
The curfew in Bellevue is at 10p.m.
It depends on the local city or county laws for curfew as well as the center rules.
Curfew is an attempt at keeping teens/minorities out of trouble.

teens shouldn't have curfews at all because we is old enough to do what we want and we know how to take care of our selves so why have a curfew. a curfew is for childish teens and kids not the mature ones cause it just make you up to the set
