The answer below is BS!!!
I am a cat expert (16 years exp.) and I will tell you Why Your Cat Lightly Bites You...
Light biting is NOT a sign of POWER! Cats like to play fight/ rough house... If there are no other cats (or dogs) in the home they will view you as their sibling... My cat.., does this even when I have over 50 toys for her to play with... I accept this nature though and rough house/ play fight back...
Your cat is only sharpening their skills... they do this through play fighting, stalking, etc... Although it is NOT recommended to accept this form of behavior... Especially with kittens... If you allow this play fighting behavior.., the cat may forget their own strength.., and hurt you...
Again.., the cat is not showing you who is boss.., unless the cat is drawing blood and lock jawing you.., remember when a cat bites it locks on hard.., they are merely play fighting... To stop this behavior.., simply bring your hand closer to your body and firmly say "NO" to your feline... Cat's understand pitches not words...

it is a sign of power. the cat is showing you who's boss. the way to get the cat to stop is to not move your hand, or whatever it bit, when it does it. when someone quickly moves their hand away it is showing the cat that they are in control. even though it may hurt, the way to teach your cat to stop is to not pull back when it does it so that it knows you are the toughest one. you could also keep a spray bottle handy and give a quick squirt every time it tries to bite.
to help improve their reflexes. obviously the cats who didn't practice like that weren't as successful in hunting as the ones who did, and in turn lived for fewer years producing less offspring who didn't bite.
-anyway, they probably won't bite or scratch as hard as they can, though they will still bite pretty hard, it's not because they hate you.
also, they are animals.
Cats are predators and, like dogs, they play-bite to hone the hunting skills that will be needed later in life. If you don't like it when your kitten bites, don't get angry because he/she doesn't understand that it's hurting you. Gently push your kitten away and firmly say no when she bites. Picture in your mind that when your kitten bites you it hurts, and send that thought to the kitten.
Well depending if it is a pup, it starts teething very soon. My puppy bites because he is teething or he just wants to play; also my dog is a terrier so its best to teach them not to play aggressive so later on they don't bite. Some dogs just play aggressive or either or like biting. Teaching your dog not to bite should be your first step in mind.

Most of the time, that is a warning: "you're invading my space, leave me alone". Usually you will find that a bite like this is not hard enough to break the skin.
If cats are involved in a dominance battle, there may be real biting, that actually causes injuries. This may mean that the cats have to be separated, kept in separate parts of the house and not allowed to meet each other.
If cats have been living together harmoniously for a long time and have suddenly started biting each other, you may have a problem. Try separating the cats, and take the one that first started biting to the vet for a blood test to see if he has picked up any odd diseases.
They may be playing, dominating, or just dont like eachother.
Well if ur cats are fixed they have a different scent that the other cat doesnt reconize...thats wat happened with mine...~lil miss~
Because it is trying to get used to its surroundings
My cat does this to me when she wants something. Like milk or to eat.
You probably made it mad or it just doesn't like you.
A kitten bite is too small to cause any significant harm.

Kittens bite not to hurt but to play. Your kitten will likely grow out of this. Adult cats will also bite. Cats usually bite when they're playing, trying to get your attention or warning you not to do something. For example if you scratch or rub your cats lower back he/she might bite you to tell you he/she doesn't like you doing that or just isn't in the mood for it. The best things to do is to learn your kitten's behaviour, especially how she acts when she's about to bite. Refrain from playing with her with your hands and use toys instead. When your kitten bites, you can either try and distract her attention with a toy, or make your hand or arm completely limp. A kitten will quickly grow bored of unmoving "prey" and will let go. Ignoring the kitten for a few minutes afterwards will also help. Kittens love attention, so a kitten will quickly learn that biting, scratching and other behaviours will get it ignored - so will stop such behaviour. NEVER hit your cat; this will just make it fearful of you. Cats respond poorly to negative reinforcement.
i bathed a kitten once in my life. You can bath a kitten but they do not like it.
I prefer you to pretend that you are angry at him and he will not bite you as he will think that you are angry or you can train him and get him some protein bars which he can chew on or either get him a toy. Hope I could help
Only if the kitten actually has rabies and you receive a bite or a scratch from it. Any animal or human with rabies is capable of transferring it to another living being.
If you like it and the kitten likes it.
In the first place, you cannot get rabies from a kitten unless it has rabies. If it is healthy, you have nothing to worry about. In the second place, it is very unlikely bacteria would have survived the trip from the kitten's tongue to its fur to your hand. And third, the mosquito bite is not an open wound (unless you have really scratched it open) that would allow bacteria to enter your body.
I like that name a lot for a kitten!
Kitten likes Robin but Robin doesn't like her back.
== == * Kittens can be teething and they will often even playfully bite their owner. Each cat has their own personality and some can be just plain silly and have a fetish for certain things in your home. In time the kitten will grow out of this. In the meantime get a small rubber baby teething ring (nothing with a gel inside of it) and put it in the freezer and then give it to your kitten to chew on. You can also try other toys to distract your kitten.
By the nape of the kitten's neck. The nape is a patch of loose skin on the back of the neck; mother cats will bite this and carry the kittens around. (But don't worry, it doesn't hurt the kitten!)
