I don't want to ban them; they're helpful in emergencies. But, people why use them in public places and then yell like they and their listener are deaf? Plus, they talk for too long. These should be limited in these places: * At meetings (if it's not an emergency, take a message) * At theaters (if it's not an emergency, take a message) * At places of Worship (if it's not an emergency, take a message) * Walking around in public (it could be brief if you need directions) * DRIVING A CAR (pull over if you need to get directions) * While they are eating (pull over if you need to eat) * At social occasions. (if it's not an emergency, take a message) * When they should be spending time with their children (Two parents were at a mall with a child, about five walking from their car, holding the child's hands and talking away on their cell phones. You could tell the child wanted to talk to his parents, but they were too busy on their phones). I know cell phones have helped in communications with very busy people, but there is a time and a place for everything. Also, those loud, stupid ringtones; they could put the phone on vibrate, or even turn it off for a while. PLEASE!!!

This is more of an opinion question. There are advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones, but they are an integral part of many people's lives, that we must learn to live with, or find ways to reduce the disadvantages to an acceptable risk level. Somebody could make the argument that cars should be banned, because people die in car crashes. People are aware of the risks involved in riding a car, but if the risk is reduced then people will accept the risk in order to take advantage of the added convenience of automobile transportation.
