Additional Information: The food supply is affected by the changes in the water temperatures, moving to stay with the proper current, the Penguins must swim further to find the food necessary to feed their young. This increases the stress of raising chicks, causing fewer eggs to be laid, and less chicks surviving to adulthood. Combine that with, people gather their eggs, where they have access to them, and the general disturbance caused by humans to their nesting grounds during tourist sightings, and habitat destruction caused by the general growth along coastal water ways. Plus the wildlife, and introduced species predation on their eggs and young, all make for increased hardship on population growth for most Penguin species.

Because of global warming. The penguin's habitat in the ice caps on Antarctica are slowly melting away, and if it's too warm for the penguins they will die. If they live in a warmer climate like Africa or Galapagos, then it is because of people moving into their habitat and hunting them for game.
