So people would not to go out in very cold weather, snow sometimes taller then the person, to go to the toilet, or even take a bath!

Back when my mom was growing up: a hole were dug into the ground and wood used to build a seat over the hole. Then four walls around it. Toilet paper was decades away and each person had a wash cloth to clean themselves with!

How would YOU have liked to have to live this way?

Thank God for Plumbing!

Have you ever seen any of the Reality TV Shows where families are picked to go and live as people use to? "Historical re-creation". Perhaps you would like see: "Cool House" , or "Coal House At War"? And see what life was like then? Back then If someone even worked in a coal mine, they could only have a bath about once a week! And all the water had to be heated on a wood stove.
