to protect the island
Puerto Rico is not a US district, Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the U.S.A., but Puerto Rico is self governing, Puerto Rico has its own laws, senators, and leaders that are elected by the Puerto Rican people. Puerto Rico can make its own laws without approval of the US government. Puerto Rico also speaks Spanish, only 1 out of 10 people on the island speak somewhat English, that means only 15% of the people there are fluent in English.
There are four major Islands that make up Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is the name of the main island. Culebra and Vieques are just off the eastern shore, and Isla Mona (uninhibited) is just to the west of the main island. There are over 140 islands that make up the territory of Puerto Rico.
Well, Puerto Rico is a US territory... you make the math. Puerto Rico is not poor, but is not rich either. If Puerto Rico become a state of the Union will become the poorest state. But if we compare with other contries around PR, PR is way above them.
Not except in a technical sense.
Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, (Haiti and Dominican Republic share the island) and Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is already a country, but no state. It is a territory of United States of America.
Butuh!
Petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, rum,
Hispaniola, Jamaica, Cuba, and Puerto Rico
None. Puerto Rico is not a state and does not have any US Representatives. They have an official observer who can make speeches and lobby for legislation, but has no vote.
As far as I know the main way of income into Puerto Rico is through their tourism, such as hotels, resorts and places like that
Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, Girl Scouts in Puerto Rico are part of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). They are part of the Caribe Girl Scout Council which is one of the 112 councils that make up GSUSA. Girl Scouts in Puerto Rico do the same activities as Girl Scouts in any GSUSA council.
