You must 'Publish' (WMM v2.6) or 'Finish'(WMM v2.1) or 'Save' (WLMM) the movie before you can burn it to DVD.
All three terms (publish/finish/save) relate to the exporting/mix-down process in the Windows Movie Maker program. This process converts the .MSWMM (Microsoft Windows Movie Maker) project files into Standard formats compatible with most media players.
However, some older model DVD players may not be able to play 'burned' DVDs. So it would be wise to ensure your player can display 'burned content' before attempting the burn process. If you are not sure whether or not your DVD player can display burned DVDs, refer to the user manual or Google the player (make and model) for specs on the device.
Windows Media Player.
You have to download video to your computer before you can import it into Windows Movie Maker. You can't simply drag and drop it into the program from Media Player. Find the 'source video' on your computer and import it from there.
In my opinion, Windows Movie Maker.
There is NO feature in Windows Movie Maker for reversing video.
Nope... No video looping in Windows Movie Maker.
Try watching it on your Windows Media Player. If you can't see it on Windows Media Player, then it is not formatted correctly to view in Windows Live Movie Maker.
Media players play media, video editing software (like Windows Movie Maker) is for movie/video creating.
Windows Movie Maker is a video editing application.
You can use Video Pad or Video Spin if you don't want to use Windows Movie Maker for your video project.
The Windows Media Player video has to be an actual file to be imported into Windows Movie Maker (meaning you can't drag and drop it).Although I haven't tried it, I believe you can copy the file from Windows Media Player and paste it into Windows Movie Maker (but I don't know this for sure). The best way to get media from Windows Media Player is to ensure it is Saved in the Library. Then, open the file's location and import it that way.
Yes, Windows Live Movie Maker can import video too. Great little program to download in addition to your current Windows Movie Maker version.
The video has to be Published/Finished in Windows Movie Maker first before you can upload it anywhere.
