I am applying for the Medical Claims Representative 3 position you have open and have the following qualifications and experience that would make me a good candidate for this position.

I have the experience and knowledge of the Public Employee Benefits, Retiree, Cobra and Selfpay with the State of Washington Health Care Authority since it's design to it's own agency from the Dept of Personnel. I understand that the benefits can change from year to year and have a quick to memorize changes and relay information to benefit members. I have participated in Open-Enrollment Benefit Fairs. I have worked in several areas of the PEBB to include, Active members for Medical, Dental, Life Insurance and Long-term disability. I have a full understanding of term-life insurance and have filed Life Insurance claims for members and dependents. I also have a full understanding of Long-term disability to include filing claims and optional coverage. I have worked with other State Agencies and K-12 employees on enrollment and options when employee has terminated or retired.

I have worked in the Cobra/Self Pay unit of Health Care Authority to provide continuous coverage for Medical/Dental/Life coverage for members and dependents. Trained other employees on how to qualify, enroll and maintain records for Self-pay.

I have also been employed by the Basic Health Plan and understand the application process which requires attention to enrollment detail and monies required to enroll for services. I have worked with enrolled members and their dependents along with medical plans to ensure enrollment and claims resolution.

I have also worked with Department of Social & Health Services to provide determine eligibility for Pregnant Woman & children for Medicaid. Work with members to process applications, request additional information and complete enrollment to include maintain records and yearly verification of continued eligibility.

Remember fit isn't just technical learned skills, but also looks at any transferrable skills you have like leadership, political savvy, and one of the most important areas of fit is your traits/behaviour/personality.

Often what happens is that if you met the technical (and salary) requirements of the job, the deciding factor between you or someone else will always come down to traits/personality.

My Version:Because I am willing to spend a good part of my Saturday typing answers. But I am guessing you need an answer for homework:I am fit for this job because I am calm, slow to anger, actually care about the people who are our customers, and consistently make the best decisions possible for the company.

You need to take that answer and fit in your best qualities and mould them around the position you are applying for.
